I had a turn at pollinating Jesse in the wee hours of the morning. Photo by Steve Wolfe.

how fascinating...where's the pollen coming from? anyway of knowing if the sees are viable?

We had two pollen donors for Jesse. One was from a recent bloom in Canada, the other was pollen stored from Woody. Pollen is collected and stored at -80°C. When a Titan Arum is about to flower, the word goes out that a pollen donor is needed. There is a pretty tight network of Titan Arum growers who help each other propagate the next generation of Corpse Flowers.
