Aisling revival

Steve and I are in a traditional Irish music band called "Aisling." We organized it in 1997 and started playing with some local musicians. Our band was pretty stable from 1999 - 2005, at which time our young fiddler graduated from college and moved on to a touring band. Our guitarist and bouziki player took that as an opportunity for a transition, too, so we were left with just the pair of us and a huge void to fill. Luckily for us, we've found some new friends with whom to play Irish music and so Aisling is back at full strength. We've been rehearsing each week for the past month and things are starting to gel. Here's a new band photo for our website, which is under construction. L to R: Craig Caldwell (guitar), Stuart Brand (fiddle, flute, whistle), Mary Bertke (vocals, banjo), Andi Wolfe (hammer dulcimer, fiddle, bodhran, vocals), and Steve Wolfe (flute, tin whistle).

New project, part VI

I've had a cold this week, so haven't made much progress on my carving. I have, however, finished three leaf surfaces on the topside. I'm spending too much time on the detail work, but I'm enjoying the process. I'm using the Foredom micromotor tool after I do the final shaping with the Powercrafter. I like the micromotor tool a lot! It's quiet and gives me a lot of control for speed and precision.
