Spring is finally sprung

Spring is finally sprung, originally uploaded by andiwolfe.

The daffodils are finally blooming in my yard. I have several varieties that I purchased at Keuchenhof Botanical Garden (Nederlands) several years ago. I really am glad to have these reminders of that lovely place.

What a wonderful flower (and photo) !
Brings to mind my favorite song at the local Karaoke bar here, in Tokyo:

Seven Daffodils

I do not have a mansion, and I haven't any land,
Not even one dollar to crinkle in my hand.
But I can show you morning on a thousand hills,
And kiss you and give you seven daffodils.

I do not have a fortune to buy you pretty things,
But I can weave you moonbeams for necklaces and rings,
And I can show you morning on a thousand hills,
And kiss you and give you seven daffodils.

Seven golden daffodils, all shining in the sun,
They light the way of evening, when our day is done.
And I can give you music, and a crust of bread,
A pillow of piney boughs to rest your head.

Let's enjoy the season and let's have a year of quick recovery in Japan !!

And thanks, Andi, for the many fantastic pictures you post.

What a fantastic poem, Kipkimo!

I do hope the recovery efforts proceed quickly. It's hard for us over here to imagine what Japan is going through in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami, but my thoughts are with you all as you work through this crisis.
