In South Africa the common name of this plant is Arum Lily, whereas it is known as a Calla Lily in most of North America. I've come to think of it as Arum Lily, which is a more accurate description of the plant because it belongs to the Arum family.
It grows with great exuberance along the roadsides in South Africa wherever there is a bit of moisture in the ground. It always brings a smile to my face and fond memories to mind when I see this plant in bloom.
Jack-of-all-trades, master of some pretty much describes my life. This blog has several themes: wood turning, photography, travel, science, fieldwork, family, friends, music, and miscellaneous things I encounter. I hope you enjoy it - feel free to leave a comment to let me know you've been here.
