The academic year began on Sept 19th and the Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology Department at OSU usually opens the the year with a welcome reception for students, staff, and faculty. This year we gathered at the Biological Sciences Greenhouse patio and had a nice spread from Baja Fresh.
It was a very warm afternoon so shady spots were at a premium.
Peter Curtis did the "speechifying."
Everyone else was busy doing the "eat, drink, and be merry" thing. Welcome to our new students, staff, and faculty members!
