Home again
Wow - that vacation sure flew by. We arrived home today - a little worn out from getting up at 3 a.m. to catch an early flight. I spent the last hour of my flight time today reading Shakespeare Sonnets - trying to come up with some ideas for titles and projects. The fun thing about reading Shakespeare was the translations that were provided side-by-side in the edition I recently purchased. Some of the sonnets don't translate well, but some are pretty insightful and relevant to today's society. I only made it through a couple dozen, so it will take me a couple of weeks to get through the volume.
don't you just love summer-reading!
ReplyDeletethe only thing missing is the big shade tree and the sounds of the bugs flying around!
"The Omnivores Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals" needs a good shade tree.
bet emma is happy to see you!

I can do without the bugs, but the shade tree sounds nice. I'll have to look up the book you mentioned. Sounds perfect for a biologist.
ReplyDeleteEmma was, indeed, happy to see me. She's glad to be home - especially after catching a rabbit in the back yard this morning. I made her let it go, so she wasn't too happy with me about that. I think she'll get over it soon . . .
Andi,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you made it home safely. Vacations are nice...but it's also nice to be home. I really appreciate your blog, checking it frequently to see what new things you're doing. It was especially nice to follow you on your vacation. I haven't had time for one of those in awhile so I enjoyed going along with you as you explored the PNW. I guess we both have to get back to work now.
Chris - thanks for your feedback on the blog. I sure enjoyed being away for a bit, but now I'm paying the piper with all the deadlines I have to catch up on at work.
