Jimmy Clewes gave a wonderful demonstration for our club on Tuesday evening, June 13th. He showed us how he makes his oriental winged box, which was a really fun thing to watch. He also showed us how he makes a colored rim platter. The fun kick on that demo is how he uses alcohol and flame to raise the grain before sanding and then to blend the colors.
Jimmy is a wonderful teacher and he gave two days of hands on classes on Wednesday and Thursday.
Here is a picture of the box demo.
We had an excellent turnout for Jimmy, too.
