Jack-of-all-trades, master of some pretty much describes my life. This blog has several themes: wood turning, photography, travel, science, fieldwork, family, friends, music, and miscellaneous things I encounter. I hope you enjoy it - feel free to leave a comment to let me know you've been here.

Spring has sprung!
It's 77°F outside right now, and we're between thunderstorms. My daffodils are in full bloom, except for one cultivar that blooms a few weeks later. These are some of the ones I bought in Holland a couple of years ago when I was over at an International Parasitic plant conference.
I had a bit of good news this morning - the biopsy on the mole removed from my eyelid showed it was benign. That's a huge relief. I hope the news about my hard drive is as good. I sent it off to a data recovery service earlier in the week.
